Work Experience

Creative Director & Treasurer, Petey’s Promise – Provisions for Pets in Need

    June 2008 — Present

Petey’s Promise – Provision for Pets in Need was started by animal lover, Liz Mellott, when one day reading about individuals who were struggling to make ends meet and having to give up their pets. Involved in several other charities & having two rescued pets of her own, this problem touched her heart. When Liz realized the lack of pet food assistance in the Concord/Charlotte area she decided to take matters into her own hands.

With the help of friends & family Petey’s Promise was born. Realizing that no one is able to rescue all the abandoned animals in NC, she decided to start by helping feed them one pet at a time. Petey’s Promise accepts donations of both cat & dog food, as well as kitty litter, food bowls, leashes, kennels & other supplies and redistributes them to the community in hopes of reducing the number of homeless pets. Even if the bag of food is open, we’ll accept it. Did you buy a different bag of food because your cat didn’t like the first? We can put it to good use!
